A Critical Message From Andrew

I THOUGHT YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW

I really dislike sending this email, but I’m doing it because I know many of you would want to know what’s happening. 

We are $6 million below last year’s income. That’s the first time in our fifty-seven-year history that our year-over-year income has decreased. We’ve dealt with this for a year and have cut back every way we know how, depleting all our reserves. My management presented a plan to lay off 129 of our 800+ Colorado employees to solve this problem, but I refused to do that. What we are doing is too critical to eliminate any of our outreaches, and I feel a responsibility to our employees. They are doing an incredible job. We didn’t lay off a single person during the COVID crisis and the Lord supplied all our needs. I believe He will bring us through this also. 

I’m committed to owing no man anything, but for the first time in nearly 30 years, vendors have called asking when they would be paid. That really affected me. I’ve fought against taking out a loan to get us over this hump, but in a sense, we are now borrowing from our vendors, who don’t want to loan us money. They need their money, and I want to pay them. 

So, reluctantly I’ve drawn on our line of credit, but I want to get this paid off as soon as possible. I know you would agree with me that the Lord wants us to pay our bills. I felt like this was the prudent thing to do. 

I’ve talked to many of my ministry friends, and most have experienced bigger decreases than us. Of course, I’m pleased to know we are doing better than most, but that doesn’t solve our current problem. I’ve dealt with our downturn for more than a year and made every adjustment that the Lord has shown me. I’m believing for a breakthrough. 

If there is anything you can do to help us during this time, I would really appreciate it. This is only the second or third time in my fifty-seven years of ministry that I’ve come to my partners like this, but I know many of you would want to know and be a part of getting us back in the black. 

You’re the best. You’ve enabled us to become one of the largest ministries in the world, and we are truly making a difference. We appreciate everything you’ve already done, and if you aren’t in a position to help with this immediate need, we understand. But for those who are able to help, it would be a huge blessing.
